I heard your Pick-up times have improved tremendously in the past few years what have you done to make this so successful?
During pick-up times Kindergarten students and anyone associated with their carpool must use the back lot for pick-up. This procedure has alleviated much of the congestion that has been seen in years past on our property as well as 3000 East. In the spring of 2019 three lights were also added to 3000 East which has also helped greatly in the afternoon.
I heard that GWA students typically have homework every night is this true?
Yes, we ask our students to read 20-30 minutes a night depending on their grade level. In addition to reading, students who do not complete homework during the day in their specific classes may be asked to complete the assignment or project at home.
How are you able to teach specifically to the needs of all students in all proficiency levels and abilities?
The teachers are trained to differentiate their instruction to meet the needs of all students. We also have Patriot Time, which is a 40 minute block built into the school day for all grade levels. students are working with peers on their same skill level with a teacher that has a specialized strength in that area.
I heard that GWA students tend to score higher on state summative assessments than other schools in the area is that true?
