Instructional Behavior Coach

George Washington Academy is currently looking to hire a full-time Instructional Behavior Coach for the 2026-27 school year. Salary ranges from $75,839.50 - $80,565.50 (with a Bachelor's degree), with additional salary depending on degree and continued education. The Behavior Coach will assist the school community in promoting positive student behavior, social-emotional growth, and a safe, supportive learning environment. The Behavior Coach will collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to implement proactive behavior supports, restorative practices, and intervention strategies aligned with GWA’s SOAR behavior framework. This position will serve as a staff resource for managing student behavior concerns, building staff capacity in classroom management, and supporting Tier 1–3 behavioral interventions, in addition to supporting staff members in other areas of the school. The Behavior Coach will also participate in the student intervention team in addition to 504 and IEP meetings as directed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Utah Professional Educator License
- Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching
- Demonstrated organization, communication, problem-solving skills, and classroom behavior expertise.
- Strong skill set in written and verbal communication with parents.
- Agreement with the behavioral and academic approach of George Washington Academy
- Ability to lead, train, and support faculty in implementing positive behavior systems
Desirable Experience:
- Experience supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Strong understanding of interventions with diverse student emotional needs and trauma-informed practices
- Experience in behavior data collection and analysis
- Familiarity with functional behavior assessments (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP)
- Experience developing and facilitating professional development for staff
