George Washington Academy is a free public charter school serving grades K-7.
Our mission is to establish a learning environment based on the principles of self-discipline and respect where each child may develop the skills necessary to help them succeed honorably in a rapidly changing world through the use of the academically focused Core Knowledge Curriculum buttressed by strong parental involvement.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are open as of October 1, 2024. The lottery for the 2025-2026 school year took place on February 1, 2025. All applications submitted by January 31, 2025 were included in the lottery. Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025 in order to attend school for the 2025-2026 school year. All applications received after January 31, 2025 will go on a waitlist and will be contacted as space becomes available.
